The health system, which encourages excellence in teaching and research has 600+ beds, is a Level I Trauma Center and is a 5 star recipient for treatment of heart failure for 6 years in a row. With the largest exclusive heart failure program in the region they draw nationally renowned physicians together to diagnose and treat approximately 3,000+ heart failure patients every year. They also offer Nurse and Critical Care Nurse Residency programs.
The Clinical Director of Nursing Cardiac Critical Care reports to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer. The ICU Nursing Director is responsible for approximately 110+ direct reports. This role is a good mix of administrative and clinical responsibilities with over 40 beds. The ideal candidate for this position will work closely with the Cardiac, Pulmonary and ICU teams. You will also be responsible for providing leadership to patient care services and ensure the implementation and development of policies, programs and services.
The hospital is considering candidates who hold a Master’s degree in nursing, business administration or healthcare administration and an active RN license. Holding a prior leadership position is paramount as well as experience in an inpatient Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU or CTICU) or a Cardiac Stepdown Unit in a medical center. This Nurse Leader must have a passion for working in a collaborative environment and enjoy a fast pace. Demonstrated progressive responsibilities in management, budgeting for operations and personnel management is desired. Evidence of continuing growth and leadership is also key.
