A 100+ bed hospital in Southern California is seeking a Charge Nurse Labor & Delivery RN to join their close-knit team.
This small hospital provides high quality health care services to their diverse community. The Charge Nurse Women’s Services RN will be part of a medical team that ensures a nurturing environment and compassionate care to every patient that walks through their doors.
The Charge Nurse will work in the Labor and Delivery Unit. The Labor & Delivery staff work efficiently together and work to create a family environment. The Labor & Delivery Unit is equipped with 3 Delivery Suites, 7 labor rooms, Central Fetal Monitoring, and a 10 bed Post-Partum Unit. Services this unit provides include comprehensive prenatal classes, assistance with pre-registration, NST, breastfeeding support, referral to an area physician, free pregnancy testing, Hysterectomy, and Tubal Ligation.
The experienced Charge Nurse Labor & Delivery RN will report to the Labor & Delivery Nurse Director and will work with other highly skilled medical nurses. The responsibilities are assigns daily patient care assignments and unit specific duties, prepares monthly work schedules, precepts and mentors new hires, and coordinates shift schedules. The Charge Nurse Women’s Services RN will supervise and evaluate performance of staff and will identify complex patient problems.
