Reporting to the Operations Coordinator/Nurse Shift Manager, the Cardio Surgical RN also works with Nurse Managers, Nursing Directors, physicians, and Nursing Staff, to ensure quality patient care standards are met within the Cardiology Surgery Department. The Cardiac Surgery RN must have a minimum of a BSN Degree, and 2+ years recent Operating Room experience (within the last 6 months).
Responsibilities for the Surgical Services Open Hearts Nurse include providing quality patient care for adult patients through geriatric ages. The RN will also monitor patients psychological status in the immediate operative period. Communicating with Surgeons and Anesthesiologists about patient conditions is also duties for the OR Cardio RN. The Surgical RN will also perform patient assessments.
