Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant

The Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant will be part of the Cardiac Surgery team at a hospital is nationally recognized in over 15 specialties and was recently named one of “America’s Best Hospitals" by U.S. News & World Report. The Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant will work within the large Cardiac Program and will work directly with the cardiovascular surgeon to conduct preoperative patient evaluations and physical examinations. The Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant will first assist with cardiac and vascular surgical procedures, endoscopic saphenectomy, and chest tube and line placement. The Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant will provide patient care in the ICU and other inpatient units. The ideal candidate will have endoscopic vein harvesting skills as well.

This is not a position for new graduates. This high-volume program is looking for a PA who can jump right in with the surgeons. This a position that primarily works 10-hour shifts during the day. There is some weekend call, which varies but is generally once every 5 weeks.
