The purpose of this position is to promote the advancement of coordinated, cost-effective, quality patient care and services within the acute care hospital in partnership with the health system care coordination strategy. This will involve working closely with Department Managers across nursing units to integrate unit-based case management and social work functions with the unit care delivery system benefiting care coordination. Collaborates with nurse leaders at all levels to promote evidence-based practice and standards of care across nursing units. In addition, collaborate with other department managers and directors, health care providers; information services leaders to meet the Hospital's annual goals and strategic priorities. Employee must be able to successfully complete job specific orientation, competencies, and meet/exceed standards.
The Nurse Manager manages the administrative, fiscal, human resources, and patient care aspects of designated areas. Assumes 24-hour accountability as appropriate to service line. Contributes to and supports the hospital’s mission, strategic goals and policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of and integrates the use of evidence-based outcomes for nursing practice. Integrates principles of growth and development in directing/providing care appropriate to the ages served.
This employee must be able to successfully complete job specific orientation, competencies and meet/exceed standards. The Department Manager I and II is based upon number of FTEs, revenue producing services, number of departments managed.
In addition, the Department Manager of Nursing maintains clinical expertise to provide direct patient care.
