The Director will lead clinical and administrative operations for a busy Cancer Care Department at these well-known community medical centers in NW Washington, as well as outpatient services across a large geographic region. Part of a regional health system that has earned local and national accolades for excellent stroke care, having an accredited chest pain center, and as a receiving center for a wide array of patient types, this facility serves as the first line of care for the community.
Reporting to the Market Vice President of Operations, and working closely with the Chief Nursing Officer, the Cancer Care Director will oversee a busy and expansive Service Line. Supporting the Director are two OCN and ONS [Biotherapy & Chemotherapy Certified] Clinical Nurse Managers who oversee inpatient and outpatient oncology care. Also supporting the Director is a regional practice manager who leads operations at the various oncology and infusion clinics throughout the region.
The Regional Director of Cancer Care will oversee both inpatient and outpatient operations in this role that aims to integrate these activities. At the Acute Care Hospitals, the Director will play a large role in improving patient care standards for patients admitted to Inpatient Medical and Surgical Oncology programs, in unit Chemotherapy, and Radiation Oncology Treatments. At the outpatient cancer clinics in the region, the Service Line Director will oversee a full range of Ambulatory Infusion, Radiation Oncology, Holistic Medicine, and Survivorship programs.
A strong communicator, and savvy business-minded professional, the Regional Cancer Care Service Line Director will play a vital role in the horizontal and vertical integration of operations across the continuum of oncology care. This person will get to design and deploy plans that deliver on clinical goals while maximizing revenue and volume potential. A thorough understanding of business and financial principles that support operations will be vital, as the Director will manage a Regional and geographically dispersed program with 6+ locations and 30+ FTEs.
