The Ambulatory Cancer Center Nurse Coordinator will be working for a hospital that is part of a growing and financially stable non-profit health system. The medical center has been serving highly diverse 1.5 million residents in surrounding communities with a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services for over a century.
The Comprehensive Cancer Center Nurse Coordinator will provide overall direction and management, operational planning, administrative coordination and implementation of programs and activities related to the oncology service line. The Cancer Center Nurse Coordinator will coordinate diverse organizational resources and interdepartmental program planning to ensure the efficient and effective operations.
The Oncology Clinical Nurse Coordinator will act as primary point of contact for cancer patients after initial diagnosis and until patient has sufficient knowledge and resources to self direct care. The Ambulatory Cancer Center Nurse Coordinator has responsibility for monitoring, coordinating care and educating cancer patients and families as they move through the healthcare system. The Cancer care providers will make referrals to the Oncology Clinical Nurse Coordinator using established referral criteria.
The Oncology Clinical Nurse Coordinator will contact cancer patients either in person or by telephone to establish a plan of care. It is the goal of the Oncology Clinical Nurse Coordinator to assess the care and services required by cancer patients and make appropriate referrals and empower them through knowledge and emotional support to independently navigate the Cancer Center services.
The Cancer Center Clinical Nurse Coordinator will provide strategic planning and direction for the development and enhancement of the Center. The Oncology Infusion Center Nurse Coordinator will coordinate the development and implementation of goals, objectives and long range plans. The Cancer Center Clinical Nurse Coordinator will provide ongoing administrative coordination of the services and activities which comprise the Cancer Center including, Cancer Registry, Cancer Clinics, Genetic Counseling, Research Program, Infusion Center, and Radiation Oncology.
The Oncology Clinical Nurse Coordinator will identify and initiate the development of new services, program and research opportunities, assuring the needs of internal and external customers are met. The Infusion Cancer Center Nurse Coordinator will also provide supervision of cancer center staff and clinical leader, develop and implement plan for cancer center staffing, direct and monitor cancer center operations, and quality improvement programs.
