Assistant Nurse Manager - Cardiac Cath Lab

An exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Cath Lab Nurse is now available in the Baltimore, Maryland area.  The hospital is one of the largest community and teaching hospitals in Maryland with 540 beds.  It is also recognized as high performing in four main areas: aortic valve surgery, heart bypass surgery, heart failure and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).  The hospital is one of four that comprise one of the largest, most comprehensive providers of health-related services to the people of Maryland.

The Assistant Manager of Cardiac Cath Lab will help lead 5 labs with approximately 45 FTEs in addition to working with the hospitals Level II Trauma Center, which is one of the busiest in the state of Maryland.  The Assistant Manager will function as a professional role model and resource person under the supervision and in collaboration with the Nurse Manager and Nursing Director. The role includes being the designated clinical leader for the Cardiovascular Cath Lab, providing staff and utilizing staff appropriately, matching assignments with patient care needs and competencies; is accountable for cost effective decision-making regarding utilization of resources. (i.e., human resources, patient care environment, supplies, etc.) and day-to-day operational decision making; participates in the development of patient care standards; facilitates staff orientation and continuing education; participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of the quality improvement plan; and maintains a clinical environment that demonstrates service excellence.
