The Assistant Nurse Director of Orthopedic Surgery will be responsible for assisting lead the 40-bed Orthopedic Unit that specializes in total joint replacement and surgery, back surgery, and bone surgery. The Assistant Nurse Director of Orthopedic Surgery will become a vital addition to this award-winning Orthopedic Department that has received the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for total knee and total hip replacement surgeries. The Assistant Nurse Director of Orthopedic Surgery will encounter a number of conditions within the unit including comprehensive care for total joint replacements, orthopedic surgery, osteoarthritis services, sports medicine, physical therapy, and rehabilitative services.
The Assistant Nurse Director of Orthopedic Surgery will be expected to work in tandem with the other clinicians in the department including reporting to the Nurse Director of the Orthopedic Service Line and will lead a team of Orthopedic Nurses, Orthopedic Tech’s, and Clinical Nurse Educators. The ideal candidate for this role will hold a strong prior knowledge of orthopedic nursing practices and should have previous experience serving in leadership level roles. The Assistant Nurse Director of Orthopedic Surgery will be expected to effectively communicate within the department as well as with many other ancillary departments within the hospital.
