This trusted and reputable hospital is looking for an experienced Cardiovascular Physician Assistant to support a strong team of Surgeons and Providers. The CV Physician Assistant will report to attending physician / surgeon on a per patient basis, but will be expected to apply strong experience in CV Surgery with a high degree of autonomy in decision making. This person will prove coordination of care for daily rounding of patients in Cardiac Progressive Care, Cardiac Intensive Care, and lower acuity CV Surgical Care units. The Physician Assistant should be experienced with multi-disciplinary team approaches to patient care through a wide range of treatments including VAD, Transplant, PAVR, TAVI, and TAVR.

Another primary facet of the Cardiovascular Surgery Certified Physician Assistant, is the Surgical part of the title. You’ll get to take an active ‘Second Assist’ role in frequent CV Surgical procedures, directly supporting the Surgeons and OR staff with the procedures including vein harvesting. While your typical cases will involve adult populations, you can also expect to see infrequent pediatric and adolescent cases because this medical center provides services to a large community with diverse needs.
