A large Magnet designated system in New York City is currently searching for a dedicated and motivated Ambulatory Surgical Services Nurse Manager to lead their busy Surgery Center.

The Ambulatory Nurse Manager for Surgical Services position is located at one of their large Acute Care Hospitals that is a Teaching Hospital and Trauma Center. They are known in particular for their achievement in internal medicine, geriatrics, trauma, bariatric surgery, vascular disease and HIV/AIDS.
The Manager will support a Perioperative Service line that consists of over 90 full-time surgeons, performing approximately 34k surgeries per year. Some specialties include in general surgery, Oncological, thoracic, Cardiac, Trauma and Pediatric. The Nurse Manager of the Operating Room oversee the daily clinical and administrative operations of the main OR, Sterile Processing, SPU, PACU, Endoscopy, and Anesthesia. The OR Manager will be accountable for all aspects of managing and overseeing these areas, including supervising a large team of FTE’s, maintain high patient satisfaction and drive quality nursing practice.
The Ambulatory Surgery Department’s Surgical teams are comprised of highly trained, board certified surgeons and anesthesiologists who perform a wide range of minimally invasive surgeries, including robotic-assisted procedures. The surgical team has greater capabilities than ever before with the opening of a new state-of-the-art surgical suite. Located in a new $200-milion, 170,000 square-foot Ambulatory Surgical Pavilion. It now offers more extensive surgical services. The new operating suites include private pre-surgical rooms, a new recovery room, and a large comfortable family waiting area. The Ambulatory Nurse Manager of Surgical Services will report to a Director of Perioperative Services and will collaborate with this person on matters of performance improvement initiatives, ensuring all compliance with Local, State, Federal and Regulatory Agencies, development and implementation of new policy and procedure and evaluating the department for any opportunity for making changes that would increase quality, improve efficiency or cost savings, increase patient satisfaction or patient safety.
