Working under the Manager of Emergency Department / Acute Care, the Acute Care Nurse RN will exhibit tact, enthusiasm, and patience while utilizing their excellent customer service skills and their high degree of competency / experience in general to organize and clearly communicate within the Emergency Department and Acute Care setting as a whole.
The Acute Care Nurse RN will help maintain the overall productivity and quality of the Emergency Services Department as well as Acute Care. They will follow all safety rules and regulations and perform necessary duties in times of Code or Emergencies. The Acute Care Nurse RN participates in continuing education and attends all required meetings, while demonstrating an ability to learn and adapt to the day to day changes in the hospital. This will allow the Acute Care Nurse to contribute to the harmonious and team oriented atmosphere that this hospital takes pride in providing.
The Acute Care Nurse RN will Implement physicians’ orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures and special tests, and document treatment as required by hospital policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations. They will Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions. The Acute Care Nurse will always apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions, while providing primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. They will administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered and will collaborate with the nursing team to create a proper Plan of Care for all patients ensuring that they maintain accurate and complete health care records / reports on each patient they serve.
