An established acute care hospital located in upstate New York is currently searching for an experienced Financial Controller to join their award-winning healthcare team.
The Financial Controller will join a 650-bed acute care health system that provides a full range of acute and long-term care services. This multi-site health system is known to offer a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. This health system is fully accredited by the Joint Commission and is licensed by the New York State Department of Health.
Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will be responsible for the health system’s accounting and financial reporting activities. The Financial Controller will work to develop and implement accounting and payroll policies and procedures. The Financial Controller is also expected to serve as a subject matter expert and must have strong understanding of overall health system finance and must also have excellent technical and financial skills. The Financial Controller is expected to collaborate with other financial leaders within the system to enhance financial performance and improve efficiency.
To be considered, the Financial Controller must have a Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, and must also have current CPA certification. The Financial Controller must have at least 5-7 years of computerized accounting and financial reporting experience working within a not-for-profit acute care health system. Prior knowledge of US General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), US Federal Regulations, and New York State Regulations.
